What is the best and most inexpensive way to learn about Search Engine Optimization?

There is too much to summarize in a quick article. I actually wrote a short ebook about the subject, for real estate agents. Nevertheless, the exact same SEO concepts apply to any website. Only the keyword examples are different.

Basically, the books explains how search engines work, how to set up your website to attract specific search term traffic, and how to get links to your site. Using social networks to get links back to your site is one good way.

SEO is not rocket science. Nor does it take some expensive wizard behind the curtain. It does take some basic understanding of SEO principles and some effort. For most holistic business owners, if they do the right things, they will likely get good rankings, at least for the keywords that are "localized" to their own market and their particular holistic niche.

The difference between sites with good rankings, and those without, is usually the level of effort expended to get there, combined with doing the right things.
