As a marketing and business development coach, I have been around many individuals as they have had tremendous breakthroughs, as they have seen unprecedented results and as they have relaxed into the bliss of knowing how they will effectively share their gifts with the world.

I have ALSO been around as individuals have encountered major setbacks, monumental distractions, and experienced full out identity crises. And, in regards to these challenges, I have an observation.

Without fail, even when the entrepreneur in question believed that they were putting the growth and development on their business on hold in order to 'deal with a situation', they were ACTUALLY doing work that was completely relevant and essential to their business's success. They were strengthening a part of themselves that needed to be present in order for their vision to become a reality.

As a healer, it is essential that you heal yourself. As a teacher, you must model a willingness to learn. As an entrepreneur, you must face many limiting beliefs in order to serve well and market powerfully. As a leader you must demonstrate a familiarity with the challenges of those you wish to lead. The trick is, to see this 'personal work' as not at all separate from your professional advancement. When we hold them as distinct from one another, we often feel that we have gone off track when in fact, we are perfectly positioned on a sometimes windy path.

I have seen people make steady, incremental progress towards their goals and have seen others suddenly burst into abundance. The common trait was a willingness to see ALL types of work as necessary, relevant and rich. To remain present and open to their next step for them and to observe, without judgment, outcomes in tangible, measurable areas.
